End of Week Review 5/26/2017

Well, I'm thawed out and running full steam ahead. With the higher altitude effects, my heart rate was in fat burn and cardio range most of the time. I also came back a few pounds lighter from all the walking and water exercise while at Estes Park. I'm sure glad to come home for more stable spring temperatures! Speaking of spring, it's bike tune-up time because those bike trails are calling my name. What about you? What outdoor activity do you look forward to doing this time of year?  We would love to hear from you!

Celiac Awareness is this month. How many different food items have you noticed at your local grocery store are labelled Certified Gluten-free? Name an item in the comments below.

Fibromyalgia Awareness is also this month. Do you know anyone with this health condition? If you do, send them an encouraging note. Sometimes, it feels like no one cares about what they go through. Brighten someone's day!

Check Out this Book I would like to share a great devotional discovery from the Colorado Christian Writers Conference. "Lord, Get Your Needle- I'm Falling Apart at the Seams" by Barbara E. Haley. Even though she doesn't have fibromyalgia, she is no stranger to chronic pain. The uplifting message in her devotions from the midst of her pain offer hope to her readers. The Lord called her to encourage others going through chronic pain. Barb was a tremendous help to everyone at the writers conference. She seemed to handle all issues effortlessly! I bought a copy for myself. You can find it on Amazon.com. This is not a paid endorsement.

Special Highlights: Eddy's Bike Shop in the Cleveland, Ohio area. They offer fantastic service before, during, and after the sale. They also do a fantastic job with tune-ups and repair. They also teach classes for roadside bike repair and tune-ups. Eddy's has four locations for bicycle enthusiasts.

A great bicycle shop in the Detroit area is Main Street Bicycles. This  is a smaller full service store with a great selection of bikes, good service, and smiling, friendly staff.I'm not paid to give these positive write-upsJust sharing for anyone in those areas. Where do you go for your cycling needs? Let us know in the comments below.

Did you miss our devotional/bible study? No worries! First, sharing a testimony about God's work in your life or the life of someone you know is very important. Many times over, the Apostle Paul shared his testimony of salvation and other things God had done. One such testimony was before King Agrippa in Acts 26. People often testified to what Jesus did for them, like the lame man in John 5: 1-15. I hope sharing my story of what God did for me at the Colorado Christian Writers Conference was encouraging to you in "An Adventure with God in the Mountains". Second, we always put up a Bible passage daily. Third, you will see a devotional next week. What has God done for you? We'd love to hear your story of what God is doing in your life.

Don't miss "Take It to the Water!" Water is a fantastic way to get exercise and have fun. Since it's warming up with Memorial Day is this weekend, maybe you can try one of the ideas I shared. Let me know how it goes!

The Merits of Dark Cherries

A lot of great produce is in season in the grocery stores. I just bought some dark cherries on sale this week. Did you know that one cup of dark cherries is only 90 calories? They not only taste good, but are good for you. They are full of fiber, flavinoids, and antioxidants. You will also find these yummy treats might help you sleep better because they contain melatonin.
