I am happy to report that my workouts are consistent! Yay! It still isn't where I was last year, but I should be back to normal soon. I had an interesting workout cleaning up construction debris from our yard. Lifting soggy, heavy lumber, lots of walking (15,000 steps worth!), and using a pickax to break up rotting scraps of plywood. I recorded about an hour and a half of cardio. The rest was fat burn with an outrageous number of flights of steps on my Fitbit! It made me think of the junkyard workouts I used to do. Hmmm. There are a couple of old tires in one of the piles....
Spring weather is fickle right now. I've had to use the furnace and the air conditioner in the same day. Also it is hard to know how to dress for the day. I may start out with a coat and long sleeves, but later I'm in shorts and a t-shirt. Crazy! Since the weather is so changeable, it is important to dress in layers. You can peel off what you don't need as the day warms up. Also, just because it may be cold at the moment doesn't mean you can't get a sunburn. Be sure to wear a good sunscreen 30 SPF or higher and sunglasses that block the UVA and UVB rays. Happy outdoor exercise!

Why Health Foods aren't Low Calorie
Sometimes people who want to lose weight go to the health food store thinking they can easily find foods that will help them lose weight. Unfortunately, their efforts in avoiding temptations while shopping may backfire. These foods are meant to boost overall health. The downside is these foods may be full of natural sugars or high in healthy fat. I've even discovered foods that are similar to treats in the regular grocery store like sandwich , salami, and alcoholic beverages! By the same token, I found many diet foods with very little nutrition in them and plans that allow you to choose your foods for a value in the plan such a pepperoni pizza or ice cream. Healthy foods aren't always low calorie and low calorie foods aren't always healthy. The best course of action is to look for healthy nutrient dense foods with a lower caloric value. In other words, read the labels carefully.
Have a blessed weekend!
