How was your Valentine's Day this week? Either your balloon is still standing high and your flowers still perky, or you may not have had any love shown to you at all. Some of you may have even had arguments with your Sweetheart and don't even want to think about the day. Whatever your day brought, remember God, your Heavenly Daddy loves you immensely. His Valentine to you was out of extravagant love. There is nothing else in this world that compares to it!
I hope you didn't mind my hubby's Valentine's Day blog post. You see, he's experienced absolutely miserable Valentine's days in previous relationships. To him, our relationship is a huge contrast to the pain he felt from divorce. For me, I see our love as normal, except he is SO overjoyed that his response amazes me. It's not like my first husband didn't appreciate my love for him, but to us, it was normal. Also, I've seen how painful life can be for someone with adult ADD/HD. That is why I put together the pictograph and posted it.There are a lot of couples with ADD/HD who need the encouragement. If you know someone who could use it, feel free to share it with them.
What happened last week?!?! To make a long story short, I've had a series of allergic reactions that put me down on the couch. Although I practice all the precautions I've been taught, I do get surprises. When I have one, my immune system is on high alert just in case of any other "intruders". The cause has been found and eliminated, but it will take my body about a week to get over it. For those of you who don't know me, I have a number of allergies, celiac, and autoimmune disease. One of the worst offenders is dust mites. I carry an Epipen for it. Even if I have to use the pen, it can still put me down for a couple of days. The auto-immune disease part of the equation is like someone whose house has been broken into. They jump at the least little thing! My immune system is hyper-stimulated, kind of like having the flu. Sometimes, it is more important to get well than to have the post up on time.
MIndfulness and Meditation
The blog post, "Have You Lost Your Mind?" was late and rather lengthy. Big apologies! I worked on it for a couple of weeks. What seemed like an easy write became much more complex than I realized because there is so much more to it than meets the eye. Mindfulness is the very foundation of all Eastern religious meditation. Keep in mind that Transcendental Meditation, Tai Chi, Yoga, and many other meditative practices from Hinduism, Buddhism, and the New Age mash-up work from this foundation. CANA really opened up my eyes to this fact.
What's Up Now?
Healthy Lifestyles groups are running as we speak! I am really pleased with the responses from those who are working diligently with me. One of the biggest points I stress is this: You do what you are willing to do; the more you put into it, the more you will gain from it. Our primary focus in on stewardship of our bodies for service to God and others (Ephesians 2:10). Looking good and feeling well are by-products of living a totally healthy lifestyle with Jesus at the center of it all. Getting married this summer? Why not do Healthy Lifestyles with your wedding party? $200 for a party of 4!
