Tips for the Care and Feeding of Your Squirrel: Loving Someone with ADD/HD

I've been blessed and, yes, a bit perplexed by several people God has brought into my life who have ADD/HD. Two with whom I've been married: my first husband of 29 years who waits for me in Heaven, and my husband of almost 3 years now. Since this is Valentine's week, I let my hubby have the blog spot at his request. But I have a special to share with you about loving and caring for someone with ADD/HD. I refer to my husband as my Squirrel every once in a while. When I can't possibly keep up with his squirrel-iness, I've informed him that I don't do squirrel well, but I can speak Squirrel- a bit. The sad truth is many of these intelligent, bright, caring people gifted by God suffer terribly in relationships. It's not unusual for people with ADD/HD to have marriages end in painful divorce. Honesty, it is challenging to this Mouse who loves her Squirrel, but it is love and commitment with Jesus at the center of our marriage that helps us through some of the speed bumps that come with squirrel-iness. I put together this infographic about The Care and Feeding of Your Squirrel as an encouraging help for couples who are Squirrel and non-Squirrel. Some of these points I've learned through life's lessons while other lessons I've learned with helps from those who understand the function of the ADD/HD brain and what works best with them. There are some links to other resources at the end of this post to help Squirrels and non-Squirrels have a blissful life in their Squirrel's nest.

Have a blessed Valentine's Day with your love!
