Here in the Thumb of Michigan we have a lot of trees all over the countryside. My mom and I were driving back home from one of her doctor's appointments the other day, when I spotted a bit of red, orange, and yellow in a woods at the side of the road. I pointed them out to her. "Oh, it means summer is almost over," she said with disappointment in her voice. Yes, it is, but Fall is an absolutely lovely season, too. The trees here will soon look like they are blazing. If you don't have the opportunity where you live to take in such a scene, try Pure Michigan's website http://www.michigan.org/, Take the time to get outside before it's too cold. Take in the sights while you exercise!
I finally got back into the pool this week. This trainer kicked her own backside. Wow! I am still feeling it, but it was great. There are several ways swimmers and non-swimmers alike can enjoy the awesome benefits of exercise in the water. Kiefer Aquatic Supply has some great swim workouts. Non-swimmer? Find a water exercise class near you or try some of these ideas in the pool from Livestrong.com. I personally love blending 1/2 to 3/4 mile swim workout, then putting on an aqua belt to finish in the deep water. You will feel absolutely amazing when you are done!
