Hawaiian Popcorn

This popcorn is a knock-off from the popcorn we tried at the Hilo Bay Cafe, so it's not the exact recipe, but tastes close enough. If you use an air popper or microwave popper, you can keep the calorie count down with the flavor up!

2 T. Sea Salt
1/2 tsp. dried garlic
1/2 tsp. dried ginger
1/4 tsp. black pepper
2-3 T. toasted finely shredded coconut

Blend well. Put in salt shaker to sprinkle on popcorn. If you use chunks, place in spice grinder with 2 T. of toasted coconut. Otherwise, using powdered spices, sprinkle toasted coconut onto popcorn when done.

Pop popcorn with 1tsp-1 T. of coconut oil, melted,as you usually would (no pre-packaged popping corn. it will change the flavor). Follow instructions on your popper. I use a microwave popper by Nordic Ware for mine. If you use an air popper, place the coconut oil in the top butter spot to drip onto the popped kernels as the fall into bowl.

When finished, sprinkle seasoning (to taste) and coconut onto your popcorn. Put a lid on top of bowl or put popcorn into large paper bag. Shake well. Enjoy!
