Another month into your new year is almost done. Have you caught yourself writing 2015 yet? Speaking of one month, how are your goals going? Becoming healthy takes time, energy, and thought-- but all well-spent! If you are having trouble, help is here. Personal training and health coaching may be your ticket to success.
I'd like to bring to your awareness something of concern. There is a growing number of instances with people with allergies and celiac disease being purposely given food that can make them very ill--even die. For some reason, food bullying and people who don't believe the issue is real are either causing problems or are not willing to provide a solution. People are dying as a result. Thankfully, Epi-pens are being stocked in schools, airplanes, and other public places. However, it doesn't mean this should always be the solution for the person affected.
I can tell you from first-hand experience the hazards of getting food that is contaminated with gluten or an allergen. We have an allergic family. I accidentally ate some nut and fruit mix that had been processed on the same equipment as egg, wheat, dairy, soy, and peanut. Within an hour, I had swelling and hives. It took almost a week for the symptoms to tame down. One of my grandchildren with celiac and allergies was given a cupcake at school. When she told the teacher she couldn't eat it, the teacher told her to eat it anyway. Praise God, she didn't! You can help by intervening for people with these issues when you see an abuse occur. You can also point people to these two online magazines to learn more about these issues. Save a life!
