The end of the year is close in sight. Have you started your resolutions for the New Year yet? No? That's okay because I don't advocate resolutions, I advocate making goals and meeting them. The difference? Intentionality! People who make New Year's Resolution make them in haste. They are too general. Setting goals takes thought and is usually done in advance. If you want to succeed in making a healthy lifestyle happen. Make your GOALS now!
By the way, Healthy Lifestyle sign-ups open up next week. Start dates are on the Healthy Lifestyle page. I need a minimum of 3 people per group. It's an affordable, effective way to get where you want to be!
GutBusters and Guts 2 Gallons sign-ups also start next week. Don't snooze or you lose! Wait. Losing is the goal!

Food of the Week: Currants
On one of my trips to the grocery store, I was looking for dried figs. I didn't find them, but I did find these! These are like candy in my mouth! My mom used to make treats with them.Zante currants are also known as "Grapes of Corinth". They are smaller than the raisins we usually eat. At 1/4 cup serving they weigh in at 130 calories. They are loaded with potassium, copper, and manganese. Currants are fantastic as a source of fiber, and contain some protein. Watch out for the sugars, though, at 28 grams! No wonder they taste like candy. If you are hungry form something sweet, these are for you! For more info, go to SFGate.com
