End of Week Review 7/17/2015

Summer is rolling along. Soon kids will be back in school, signalling another "year". Amazing how we think in terms of the school year when we aren't in school nor have kids in school. How is yours shaping up? Feel free to go back into the archives to see what's been posted when you're out for a nice vacation. My own summer is full. Besides doing updates and changes here, we are finishing building(ourselves, literally!) our house, getting my Mom acclimated to her new home, on and on. There is rarely a dull moment here!

The website is undergoing quite a few changes. One of the most noticeable is the background. I am testing driving some, so your input is really helpful. So, now through August 3rd, ifyou would either email me at totallyfit63@gmail.com  with" Site Design" on the subject line or go to the Contact Us page, let me to vote for your favorite design.  You can also contact me through Twitter, Google+ or Facebook to cast your vote. One catch is the possibility that I may not be able to get "the Tree" background back if that's what you prefer. I will give three winners a "Totally Fit 4 Life Wellness Journal". It includes 6 weeks of tracking your progress with weight, exercise, food, and a journal page.  After the voting time, the Totally Fit 4 Life Wellness Journal will be made available for purchase.

In case you missed them:

Cantaloupe is a sweet, juicy melon you will find at great prices in your local grocery around July and early August. This tasty treat is only 60 calories for 1 cup of melon balls or 1/8 of the melon cut into a wedge. It is full of vitamins A and C, and potassium, with some sodium, iron, and calcium. Since it is chock full of natural fruit sugar, it would be fairly high, so eat cautiously if you have diabetes. Otherwise, enjoy this natural sweet treat!

Overpronation is when your feet roll inward, flattening the arch. Some people have arch, ball of foot, and/or heel pain because the plantar facia is stressed. This issue can cause foot, knee, hip and back problems if not properly supported with the right shoes specifically designed. The shoes should have an arch support built in with a protection against inward roll. You should buy your workout shoes at a store with a knowledgeable person helping you find the right fit.

Do you or someone you know have celiac, gluten sensitivity and/or food allergies? Travel can be challenging unless you know where to look. Check out these:

Many blessings for your week!
