This weekend, my hubby and I will celebrate our first anniversary! He was divorced and I was widowed, having been married for 29 years prior. God designed marriage to be durable, withstanding the trials of time. When we were prepping for the wedding with the pastor, he was likening the gold ring to be as a symbol of the precious love in marriage. Since our bands are titanium, not gold, we chimed in "durable!" He looked at us dumbfounded. I explained the metal of our bands is durable and that I had banged my engagement ring on weights, weight racks, and other equipment in the gym where I worked. A gold band would need to diamond re-set, but mine was still where it belonged. The pastor chuckled. You see, marriage must be durable because our world isn't kind to biblical marriage. Nothing holds a candle to it.
In case you missed them:
Today is Bike to Work Day! Is yours ready? My favorite bike shop, Eddy's in the Cleveland/Akron area reminds us of this with Bike Cleveland!
This is short today. Just came back late yesterday from helping Mom pack and sort.
Many blessings to you!
