End of Week Review 4/02/2015

Thank you for waiting while I have been traveling.  Sometimes it is nice to take a break from blogging, although I did put up one blog post.  I was in San Francisco and Silicon Valley while my hubby was on business. We also took the time to see his son in New Mexico who serves in the U.S. Air Force. Good trip!

I hope with the past couple of blog posts Secrets to Flat Abs and Secrets to the Perfect Body that you have been encouraged to be who God created you to be, while you take care of the body God gave you. If your job is modeling, acting, or some profession where appearance really matters, the gym is your second home. Do everything to the glory of God. However, most people do not.  Eating healthy, moderate food portions and exercising should be integrated into your life. Being obsessed with health and fitness doesn’t glorify God.

Something that stood out to me while traveling is the eco- and health conscious culture of California. Although junk food abounds, healthy food were more prevalent.  When we ate lunch at Chipotles near Union Park in San Francisco, the burrito bowls we bought were almost half of what is served in our area of Michigan! LA Airport also had a lot of healthy foods available. However, as someone with food allergies and celiac, it was torturous to watch people eat a meal while I could not. All I could find was a little bit of fruit. Although there is a greater awareness regarding celiac and food allergies, there is a long way to go! Healthy living is also eating regular meals.

Exercise on the road is always possible if you make the time to do it. It was nice to have the pool available at the hotel to do water aerobics.  My aqua gloves and suit packed well. I was able to walk a lot to a shopping center while hubby was working, on the hills of the streets of San Francisco, the airport, walking on the sands at White Sands, and other places,not to mention the lugging of luggage! Most hotels have some fitness equipment, but body weight is good if you know what you are doing.

So, how is your Big Change Challenge going? What did you choose to change? Why? What results have you seen so far? Did you have trouble along the way?  There is always room for improvement in our lives. None of us is perfect!
