Everyone wants the perfect body. I bet you do, too, or you wouldn't be reading this! The good news is there no such as the perfect body. So, for those of you dancing with delight that you are off the hook because you don't have to worry about something that doesn't exist, don't get too excited. Running out to the All You Can Eat buffet and lounging in PJs all day is no excuse to ruin what God gave you.
The bad news is that there is no such thing as the perfect body. For those of you who are disappointed there is no perfect body, take comfort in the fact that you don't have to try to measure up to something that doesn't exist! Trying to be someone else never works. Rather than drowning your sorrow in Ho-Hos, feel the freedom.
Since you didn't click your mouse to leave, I will tell you who ever had the perfect body here on Earth: Adam and Eve, before they sinned, and Jesus. Why? Because their bodies weren't affected by the sin-factor and how it caused decay, disease, and many other things akin to Pandora's Box to happen to all creation.
Personal stewardship is about taking care of the one body God gave you here on this earth. It's not about what you were born with, but what you do with it. Now that's out of the way, let me give you some tasty nuggets of truth about caring your body. "Okay, Char, "you say, "Why in the world did I bother to stick around for that? I could get this info anywhere."
My reply is, "You are still looking for what you can't have. But I will remind you what you can do for the one you have. "
I really dislike the way marketing dictates to us what we should want, how we should look, and what we should have. But endless time goes into what hooks us. It got your attention. Why? Because you believe something is wrong with you and you should have the perfect body. Check out this video from ABC News https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wA331SpzYy4.
Here is what you can do with the body you already have:
1. Learn to accept this body God gave you because it's the only one you get this side of heaven. In my blog post, "A Story Behind Every Body" I share a conversation with a woman in the gym where I worked. She wanted my body! I am 5'1" and she was 5'5". She wasn't happy with herself. The fact is we have this one body here on earth and will one day get a new perfect body in Eternity after we die, for those of us who know Jesus. It's what we have done to ourselves that we really don't like. We need to take care of what we have instead of obsessing over it. 2 Corinthians 5:1-8
3. Don't treat it to trash! You can't eat junk, sit all day, deprive yourself of vital nutrients, or torture yourself while expecting the impossible. With the way we treat ourselves, we might as well go to the local dump and set up camp! Change your mindset to change your lifestyle. It's really that simple. Be the man or woman of God to serve Him fully. Romans 12:1
4. Eat healthy, get enough sleep, and exercise. God didn't intend for us live the way we live. We need to seek out healthy, unprocessed foods, balance our diets, sleep 6-8 hours, take a day off break, and live an active lifestyle. It's important to keep it all in perspective. 1 Timothy 4:8

Do you know Jesus? I hope you do. If not, please consider that t He died for your sins and offers you a new life on earth and eternity with Him. There is no other way. Without Him, you do this alone. With Him, you can have total health in all areas of your life.
May God bless you!
