End of Week Review January 23, 2015

Good morning, afternoon, evening! It all depends on when you are reading this! The picture is where I do most of my writing for you, except sometimes at my table eating breakfast.  If you look at the screen, you'll see that I am on the Vistaprint dashboard working on something for you!

How's your progress in goals? What are your goals? Weight loss is normal right now, how about getting stronger, better balance, health improvement?  Let us know about your progress. It would be great to hear about them. Shoot me an email or make a comment below.

This week, since flu season is here and so are sport activities, I addressed illness and injury in Sidelined.

How about your other goals?  There is more than physical for you.  How about mental/emotional, relational and spiritual?  One of my own is to develop myself following the example of Daniel in "Godly Character Series: Influence". This is the first of a six part series.  Let me know if there is anyone in the Old Testament who inspires you!

Superfood to Try: Citrus Fruit
Why? First it is plentiful in the stores right now.  It packs a punch with vitamin C, folate, pectin, potassium and phytochemicals.  Second, it helps reduce blood pressure, gives the immune system a boost, and regulate metabolism.  Try oranges, mineolas, grapefruit, tangerines, lemons, limes.

Exercise of the Week: Plank
This exercise, in my opinion, has been the most abused.  People proudly display it incorrectly or announce that they have held it for 30 minutes.  This is why I am bringing it to you with proper form. 

Modifications: on forearms and/or knees.

Base form:  the push-up, spider walk, hip internal rotation, mountain climber, the Mountain (PraiseMoves), Shoulder push up with leg extension, plus many others.

It can also be done on side and even reverse (face-up). Proper body alignment is key here to get the full benefit of this super core challenge!
