Totally Fit 4 Life embraces total Christian health, fitness, and wellness
, meaning the balance of the mental, physical, social, and spiritual aspects of each person affect each other. "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!" Matthew 6:21-23 NIV.
It's a journey in which we don't want to go back to where we used to be! God gave us this one body here on earth to serve Him. We practice this through:
- Eating healthy while keeping our bodies fit and strong is an act of stewardship.
- Having healthy relationships with people is important because God created us to be social beings.
- Focus on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ gives us life.
- Staying mentally focused on "whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy" (Philippians 4:19) gives us the right outlook on life. To only focus on our bodies sets us on God's throne-- certainly not a place we belong.
We offer a Zen-Free Zone! Due to the focus on Eastern religions~Hinduism, Zen Buddhism, and Taoism~blended into the secular health and wellness community, it is important for us to stay focused on Jesus Christ, living out His teachings.The Bible has a lot to say about idolatry. It's inappropriate for Christ followers to practice other religions.Totally Fit 4 Life offers to help clear up confusion on these issues.
I am passionate about helping people improve their lives through healthy living, exercise, and growing in their Christian faith. I've been in the health and fitness industry for 25+ years and encountered a religious landscape under the guise of holistic health and wellness. As a result, I am committed to bringing health, fitness, and wellness to you from a distinctly Christian perspective. You deserve a No Zen Zone, a place that is spiritually safe to find refreshment for your journey to total health.
I live with chronic pain and fatigue conditions which present distinct challenges, but God has enabled me to do more than I could ask or imagine. My own workouts consist of a blend of functional training exercises, traditional weights, PraiseMoves, and cardio on the elliptical, bicycle, and swimming. My diet consists of lean meats- primarily poultry and fish, fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables, whole grains- gluten-free, non-dairy alternatives, and plenty of water. There are ups and downs that come with chronic health conditions. When I get knocked down, I keep getting back up again and again. I want to encourage others who face challenges to do the best they can with what they are given each day.
I am a personal trainer and freelance writer, so you will see blog posts, magazine articles, and be able to watch books take form. When people make comments and interact with me about something they read, I really enjoy discussing their thoughts with them. I live in the Thumb of Michigan; so if you want to figure that out, there are mittens with the Michigan map on them!. My husband and I enjoy cycling and flying together. He jokingly refers to me as his "biker babe". When we went to an air show and fly-in, we drooled over a plane prototype the company hoped to finish in 2017. This was about all we could afford. Ha-ha! We thought the engine, wings, and tail were pretty important, so we left it there! We also enjoy spending time with our adult children and grandchildren whenever we can.
